Description
Rattles are often added to Pike or catfish flies to add more “noise” to attract fish to the fly. I also use the glass rattles pushed in to foam popper heads and the foam makes the rattle louder.
How to attache the rattle? I put down a layer of thread, run glue along where I am going to place the rattle and add thread wraps over the rattle. To finish I add more glue over the thread wraps teeth proofing them. You can also insert the rattle in to a length or heat-shrink, shrink it down and tie the end “tag” on the hook shank. On a foam poppers, I 1st use a toothpick or similar width to poke a hole in the foam. Them push the glass rattle in to the hole.
